Wasteland Survival Guide Walkthrough

The Great Bobblehead Hunt is over, and we should be much better off in the way of wealth, gear, experience, and, of course, Bobbleheads. If you forgot, our secondary goal during this was to get injured for Moira. By injured, in this case, we were looking for under 50% Hit Points and at least one limb crippled. If you didn’t manage to sustain an injury like this at all during The Great Bobblehead Hunt… you’ll have to go out of your way to get injured. Falling and explosives are the best way to do this. When you’re properly beat up, return to Moira.

1) Resuming the Research

Moira will patch you up, good as new, and give you an Environmental Suit, three Med-X’s and your next task, as well. This time we need to hide a scanning device in a Mirelurk lair… preferably without killing any of the Mirelurks while you’re at it. That means one of two things: Either you trust your Sneak skill enough to get around unseen, or you make a mad dash, plant the sensor, and get out. Either way doesn’t sound good, so now’s a good time to use some of those Stealth Boys we’ve been finding. One of the reasons we took a break from the Wasteland Survival Guide to go hunt Bobbleheads was to improve out skills and collect more Stealth Boys, in fact. Also hitting level 12 and getting the Silent Running Perk helps, if you managed to do that.

Note: Now is also a good time to buy the 'My First Infirmary' if you haven’t already. It’s expensive, but it will save us money on Rad-X, Rad Away, and doctor visits in the long run.

2) Quick and Easy

Head over to the south-eastern side of the island the memorial is on and enter through the Memorial Service Entrance [Very Easy]. Enter stealth mode and use a Stealth Boy. Head straight down the tunnel and continue going east when the path branches four ways. To either side of you will be a Mirelurk guarding an egg clutch. Plant Moira’s observer right in any of the egg clutches, turn around, and leave. There, that wasn’t so bad, was it?

I made this for a Moira cosplay a few months ago and felt I'd need a prop asides from the molerat repellant stick. I soon realised that there's very few Survival Guides out there so I knocked up my own. Text is taken off the Fallout Wikia with some small amendments.

3) Chapter Two, In the Books

Return to Moira and claim your reward for this quest. You’ll get five Stealth Boys and the Shady Hat , which is a nifty little item that raises your Sneak and Perception, while looking fashionable. Now chapter two is completed, you’ll get three more quests to do. She wants you to find out about Rivet City’s history, go to the RobCo factory and figure out how to harness old technology, and visit your local library. The Library is the least annoying of the three, so lets start there… of course, this wouldn’t be much fun if we didn’t do any exploration on our way there though, now would it?

First, however, it’s time to clear out the Anchorage Memorial. Now that the Wasteland Survival Guide quest involving it is over we can kill as many Mirelurks as we damn well please. Time to put that Sneak skill to good use getting sneak attack criticals on Mirelurks.

4) There and Back Again

This time enter through a door [Average] at the bottom of a staircase on the south-western end of the island. Kill whatever Mirelurks you find and loot the body of a Mercenary. On his body you’ll find the note 'Merc’s Orders'. Work your way down stairs and go through the door leading to the Anchorage Memorial Facility.

Delboni auriemo. 5) Cleansing the Memorial

Book - D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine

Book - Dean’s Electronics

Search the upper level for minor loot. Downstairs you’ll find the body of Ted. Search it for the 'Note For Ted' note. Play with the computer [Average] and select the 'Unlock Secure Medical Safe' option. In the room to the west you’ll find a floor safe under one of the tables. Loot it for a Door Component and a copy of Dean’s Electronics . On another table in this room is a D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine . Go through the door on the lower floor to reach the Anchorage Memorial Facility Bay. Head down to the Memorial Service Entrance-the same place you placed Moira’s observer. You could explore the Memorial Facility Offices… but there’s not really much there besides Mirelurks and their eggs.

6) The Tenderizer

Book - U.S. Army: 30 Handy Flamethrower Recipes

Go to the northern end of the tunnels and find the locked door (which would be the north eastern most door). With the door component and at least 35 points of Repair you’ll get it open. Inside is a pretty good stash of loot. Take the Nuka-Cola Quantum, the U.S. Army: 30 Handy Flamethrower Recipes . Also grab the Anchorage Stash Key, the Anchorage War Memorial Stash note, and the unique sledgehammer, The Tenderizer . Head back into the eastern part of the level (not the sewer portion) and go downstairs as far as you can. You’ll come into a room with dead Mirelurks and meat hooks. One of the fridges in this room contains the Anchorage Stash, which contains 360 Caps, some Mirelurk food-products, and the Recipe - Mirelurk Cakes. We’re done with the Anchorage Memorial-time to head back to Megaton to stash loot and get ready to head towards the Arlington Library.

Weapon Info (The Tenderizer): It does about 50% more damage than a normal Sledgehammer. If you use a Sledgehammer, you might as well use the Tenderizer.

SECTION ABASIC GAMEPLAYWhile the game does walk you through with a short tutorial, you will still have to figure out some things by yourselves. So in this section, we will walk through some of the gameplay basics if you are still confused.GAME MECHANICS – THE SUMMARYWestland Survival is a simple game that can pretty much be summed up as:. Visit locations, hunt mobs, and harvest resources.

Go back to home base, build, recover, and repair. Rinse-and-repeat.Yep. That’s all.CHARACTER STATSThe character has 4 stats that you can choose to upgrade as you level up:.

Sid meier HOVER FOR DETAILS!

Damage – Additional damage on top of the equipped weapon. Attack Speed – Additional attack speed on top of the equipped weapon. Defense – Additional defense points on top of equipped armor. Spirit – Used to “charm” animals, and turn them into allies, power mob requires higher spirit. WORLD MAP LOCATIONSThere are various locations that you can visit on the world map, and all of them will offer different available resources, with varying levels of difficulty. In general, you will not want to risk the more difficult places in the early game –. Places with green markers – Difficulty 1, recommended for beginners.

Yellow markers – Difficulty 2, recommended after you have some equipment. Orange markers – Difficulty 3, only if have good weapons and armor. Red markers – Difficulty 4, armed to the teeth. These places drop rare loot.AVAILABLE BUILDINGSThis is the part that I like about Westland Survival – The buildings are very well organized, and they really make sense.

Building – Walls, floors, doors, and windows. Storage – Where you keep resources in; In other survival games, this will be a mess of generic storage boxes. Workshops – Respective workstations to produce various stuff. Projects – Build these to unlock certain game features. For example, completing the stable will unlock more locations on the map. Furniture – Decorative stuff. SECTION BTIPS & TRICKSNow that we are done with the basic gameplay, here are a couple of tips for the early gameplay.1) WHAT TO DO FIRST?Westland Survival starts by throwing you butt-naked in the middle of somewhere, so what’s next?.

Talk to the guide standing right next to the cart. This will start the beginner’s tutorial, and help you to master the basics. After you are done with the short basic tutorials, clear out the entire home base map. Slay all the boars and bunnies for leather and food. Harvest all the materials. Repair the walls and well.

But don’t bother to build any additional floors and walls yet – Build the stone storage first. Next, you are going to need some “starter materials”. Create a bag to hold more loot. Cook meat and draw water. Cut some wood boards.

Create a weapon if you can. That’s about it for the first few steps. I will recommend heading out to the Pine Forest next to get more wood and food.2) WHAT TO BUILD FIRST?This game has quite a lot of buildings to choose from, but for the early game:.

Just concentrate on building all the storage and respective workstations first. Expand the size of the house as required.

Forget the projects in the early game. It is virtually impossible to complete in the early game as they require quite a lot of rare loot that is only dropped in hard stages Not until you pay to win. Furniture – Nah. Don’t bother. 3) BE A SNEAKYAlways sneak up on the mob from behind, and that will do 200% damage for the first hit – That will instantly kill the weaker ones when you have a good enough weapon and high attack points. Lesser hits with the weapon result in faster kills and result in the equipment lasting longer. My early game favorite is the stone knife with decently good attack damage, and it is easy to craft using just rocks and wood.

Don’t bother with using the bow though, we cannot do sneak attacks with it.4) RUN & AVOID IF YOU CAN’T WINTake note that if you stay in a location for too long, a random mob will spawn – Either a simple creature, AI player, or badass boss depending on the location difficulty. If you can’t win the fight, run out of the map. On the easy difficulty locations, the random spawn will disappear once you exit and re-enter But on the difficult places, the spawn will remain and continue to hunt you down.5) WHICH STATS TO GO FOR?The character gains skill points upon leveling up. Which is the best build? So far, this is what I will recommend:. Attack – Highly recommended.

Sneak up from behind do a whole load of damage. Attack Speed – Not quite useful. It does speed up the attack intervals and increases the DPS But it also means breaking the weapons faster. Defense – Kind of useful. But personally, high attack damage is the best defense. Spirit – Kind of useful again.

Having enough spirit points will allow you to charm plenty of friendly mob. 6) OUT OF PICKS & AXES?Should you fall into the unfortunate situation of losing all your loot, and don’t have enough resources to craft picks and axes – The only way is to go back to the 1-star difficulty pine forest. Pick up enough loose pieces of wood and rocks lying around Just avoid combat along the way.7) LOOT SMART & LOOT QUICKThe sad part about this game is that you cannot collect all the loot in one trip. So loot smart, loot quick. A few of the common tricks that I use are:.

Collect resources, craft more axe/pick on the location as required. When the inventory is full, head out to the world map – It is safer to reorganize the inventory in the world map instead, without having to worry about a random spawn mob attacking your character with an open inventory screen. Eat the 1 or 2 pieces of food to recover if you must, free up inventory space. Weigh your own needs – It is wiser to throw a few seeds away to make room for a whole pile of wood.
