Original review: Jan. 11, 2020This was a very eventful trip. If you love rides and adventure it brings your imagination to reality, lets you lose yourself in the fantasy world. It lets the inner child come out of everyone. The last time I visited Universal Studios, Harry Potter was one of the main events there, this was very fun and exciting. I remember the first time I ever went to Universal Studios there was the Jaws ride, you get into a boat and the shark came up out of the water at you. You always get wet on this ride, and another time when Pirates of the Carribean was there it was very fun.
Anyone interested in going to Universal Studios please go, you will not be disappointed with your decision. Have a great adventure! Original review: Jan. 10, 2020It should be more stressed for visitors to know about scheduling your ride times so you can get the most out of your day. I had paid admission for 2 adults and had one 3 year old.
Apr 12, 2007 Verdict. Theme Park first arrived in the mid-90s. It came to PCs, and then various home consoles including the Genesis, SNES and PlayStation. The sim genre was already established by that time.
She was free to get in which means she didn't have a ticket so I was confused when scheduling rides times (which I didn't start doing until after I was in the park and had to completely set up my account from scratch and the app was glitchy and confusing when trying to set up my Disney account, now losing more time out of my day.) Lines were super long to wait in and it was only in the lower 80s and the middle of October. Couldn't imagine peak season time. I did absolutely love the storm troopers walking around and doing small skirts. I think the princesses should walk around more instead of sitting by the theatres creating ginormous lines. 1, 2020Magic, amazement and adventure beyond the imagination! Universal studios Orlando has something for everyone in the family. From the zany story book a Doctor Seuss to the magical world of Harry Potter there is something 2 amaze and surprise everyone.
The staff are truly professional and seemed to enjoy every minute of their work. Each themed area had individuals who are completely in character as though actors. Hospitality was tremendous. A member of our party was using a wheelchair because she had difficulty walking and she received Royal like service at each and every ride! It didn't even require purchasing an additional add-on. 5 years later every member of our family recalls the trip and longs to re-experience it.
Original review: Dec. 27, 2019My special needs son had the absolute best experience at Universal studios Hollywood about a week ago. He was treated like a VIP like they knew all along that he had had a hard life and needed the love badly. The characters whisked him off and gave him an experience like none other. She felt special and like the characters were his new best friends. He didn't have any special name tag or anything and I only gave some of them the hint.
She has dealt with a lot of anger from emotional trauma from neglect as a young child and then foster care. The park has no idea how meaningful the experience was for him. Original review: May 29, 2019My husband, 11 yr old son and I visited Universal Orlando for the first time the week before memorial day. We purchased a packaged deal and stayed at Lowe’s Portofino Bay Hotel with the five day three park pass (UOA, IOA, Volcano Bay).
We also purchased a VIP experience on our first weekday (5/20) to get the lay of the land - it was very expensive $891 (tax included) for all three of us at both UOA & IOA. Your must have the park tickets purchased on top of the VIP costs.
It was so worth the cost. Our tour guide Vincent was phenomenal. We visited 11 different rides and attractions with zero lines. And met some really nice ladies from Australia. We got on all three Harry Potter rides in less than 10 minutes.
If you are a Harry Potter fan - save your money and just do it. We were not big potter fans - but we are now! Staying on property is worth it for the ease of transportation, express pass and early park entry. We arrived at IOA early Tuesday (5/21) to get on our favorite ride - Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - we rode it twice back to back. Major score for my son. We also ordered a cabana at Volcano Bay for the one day we visited (5/22) and that was $475 + tax, which I know sounds like a lot of money but we don’t tan we burn so the cabana was very much needed. Our cabana boy (yes I know how that sounds) Brad was unbelievable at his job. You ever get so annoyed at employees who do the bare minimum (I work in HR so I hear about and see if ALL the time) - well Brad makes up for all of them.
No idea of his last name but had to give him kudos. He hauled.
and was well tipped for it. The Lowe’s Portofino is a nice hotel but I’m the type who will always find a flaw in a hotel.1. The cleaning was not done one day out of 7 and I had to call four times. I’m on vacation - I’m not cleaning.
I do enough all year long.2. My husband has lymphedema and uses a scooter at parks. The hotel failed to locate the scooter which means we lost time on Sunday (5/20) because we were limited to what we could do.
Time is the most precious commodity when visiting Orlando. You can’t just arrive and say ‘Okay I’m at the happiest place on earth make me happy’ you have to plan and I did! The hotel failed me for one day.
They did redeem themselves in other areas but for that you get four stars.3. What I have learned from visiting all the restaurants on city walk - Cowfish, NFL, Hard Rock, Margaritaville, Marvel superhero dinner in IOA is - the majority of the workers really want to make your experience special they are keenly aware that they can be replaced in the blink of an eye so they really do go out of their way to help. But if the food is no bueno so is the experience. I don’t care how nice you are I’m not gonna leave happy.4. Cowfish was wonderful Margaritaville was okay hard rock two thumbs down. Go to hard rock for their memorabilia but that’s about it.5.
Marvel dinner buffet style was okay. I don’t think I’m a food snob, but standards must be met. Less fried food more beef and fish please and thank you. Original review: March 1, 2020I would not stay at a Universal property again. The theme park is fun but way too expensive. We did the express pass that was ridiculously expensive.
The Resort need updating. The best part is the free transportation between the resort and the theme parks. Not even the ride between the airport and the resort is included. I had the meal plan but it doesn't include the restaurants at the resorts.
I love kids but try to get into the hot tub! There were at least 20 kids in it at all times. I've been to Disney and that is where I will go from now on.
Original review: Jan. 13, 2020The park was great, the employees were extremely well trained and helpful and friendly. Everything was very expensive though. We stayed at a hotel within the park, and 'resort fees' which I've also experienced in Las Vegas, are a subtle, yet slimy way that they squeeze you for extra money. The fees aren't considered a part of the hotel room quote/charge, but there's no opt-out option, so you get charged 100% of the time anyways, so why not build those fees into the cost of the room? It feels like bait and switch. Universal Orlando opened in 1990 and began expanding in 1994 to become a multi-day vacation resort.
