It's a 'Zero-Player Game (AKA 'ZPG'). It's a type of genre where the game plays itself without any input from the player.Godville is an 'MMORPG' version of a ZPG. Very similar to that of Progress Quest but with more 'to do', though there is a small amount of input in which you can perform, but it's not at all required and said input has very minimal effect on the actual game itself.Neither of these are incremental games though. While you idle (and idling is 99.99% of what you do), and numbers go up, nothing really goes up incrementally. There is no actual progress going on though (at least for Progress Quest - despite the name; I can't speak for every ZPG). Level 8937294 is the same as level 1.

The gameplay is the exact same. Everything gets done at the exact same time. The only difference is that it takes longer to level up. The only effect leveling up does is that your character takes more time before they stop killing things to go to town to sell things, and then take longer to sell things, before going back to killing things, to the point that instead of killing and selling every 2 minutes, they may spend 2 weeks killing straight, and then 2 weeks selling and buying equipment straight. Equipment, which does not effect the speed of anything.Progress Quest is about as incremental as watching the date on your calendar tick by on your computer, except your calendar is simulating itself playing an RPG as you watch the dates tick by, which is much more amusing than just watching any plain old calendar.
